We understand the importance of collecting quality data to help create healthy, sustainable fisheries and effective fisheries management. In order to accurately monitor the size and health of fish populations, data from both commercial, recreational and for-hire fisheries is needed. This data is used to estimate fishing effort for individual species and helps create fish abundance indices which are used to follow changes in stock size. Our field staff are trained in fish identification, accurate length/weight measurement collection, and effective interviewing techniques to obtain the best catch data possible. Our office staff are well versed in data collection procedures and work with fishermen to collect data on their fishing effort. We have the specialized knowledge and capability to perform phone, mail, internet, intercept, and mixed-mode studies tailored to the needs of each fishery and client.
